Fort Knox, Kentucky Ghost Sightings - PAGE 3

Comment by B.A.: I also lived on 8th ave and never saw anything but I would hear people ''talking'' anytime I was in the basement even when both my house was empty and the adjoining house was vacant. It always sounded like someone talking in the next room but I could never make out the words except it sounded like they were in a great deal of pain.
I also would smell the ''burnt pork'' smell in the basement at night. I always felt like the house and the whole street was under a blanket of dread. My family only lived there for a year and we were all glad when we left.
One of the neighbors died in the basement of one of the middle houses but I don't know if it is anyone from the other a hard experiences about 8th ave in Ft. Knox.

Oh my God! I thought I was the only one. I lived in the middle house on 8th Avenue too, and it was the worst eight weeks of my life. I was a young lieutenant, and my wife and my daughter moved into that hell house in early spring. I came home from a long day at work, and I found my wife crying in our bedroom. She said she saw something terrible in the basement. She said that I needed to move us from this house or she'd take our daughter and go stay with her parents.
I didn't understand, and I said we couldn't move and went to take a shower. When I came out, she was gone with our daughter. I knew better than to chase after her because her father was a strong southern man, and if his daughter came home, he'd have ''words'' with me before we actually talked. I then decided to go in the basement. I turned the light on and went down the stairs. It smelled like burnt turkey, but besides that everything seemed fine.
Suddenly all the lights ''popped'' and burnt out. In that second as my eyes adjusted, I saw a dead man standing by the basement door that led out. He was surrounded by the same light orbs that everyone else is talking about. Then he flew at me at a wink of an eye, and I threw my hands up to block, and I felt the wind and stench of burnt flesh as he flew through me into the back wall. I then passed out.
I woke up the next morning with a bad headache. I was four hours late for work, and I caught hell. I spent the next eight weeks with the basement door blocked with the oven and looking for a nice house off post. I bought a place in Vine Grove, and my wife moved back in with me. I left everything in the basement when I moved out. No, I won't give my real name or when I lived there either. I'm still in the Army, and I swear if that house hasn't been knocked down yet, I'll burn it down myself.
