When my sons were approx 11 &12 years old they were riding there bikes at Waverly Hills around the sanatorium this was during the day light. My oldest son said that while they were there a black man wearing all white clothing jumped out of the 2nd story window and chased them off the property he kept saying it was the security guard.
This was in approx. '02. I believe it was a ghost that is protective of the place.

On a recent tour of the Waverly Hills Sanatorium I encountered phenomenon before the tour even began. While watching the video of the history and hauntings something touched my shirt collar. During the tour one the members of our party noted he felt that something had touched his back.
On the third floor a shadowy figure emerged behind the security guard and then it just disappeared. On the fourth floor shadow figures were seen and one followed me down the hall and I encountered two spots where I was just freezing in temperatures of 80 degrees.|
In the bakery I smelled fresh bread just like I do when I pass the Heiners bakery in Huntington WV. Bread however hasn't been baked at Waverly Hills in years. As we entered the death tunnel another member of our tour reported he was freezing.
It's worth $20 Bucks to take this tour.
