A very frightening ghost may every now and then be spotted at Akers Branch at midnight heaving rocks into the water. In any event, this is an antagonistic spirit that you wouldn't want to run into at the stroke of midnight. The ghost of an old woman holding a shot gun has repeatedly been noticed searching through the freezer in the kitchen of a Meally flat after midnight. One of the people who live here confidently declares that this ghost is the stressed soul of a former Meally local person.
