Bancroft, Michigan Ghost Tales My aunt and uncle used to own a house across the street from the park in Bancroft. I personally wouldn't be alone in that house, let alone spend the night there. My aunt saw several ghosts there over the 30 years that she lived in the house. One was a small boy who played a flute when good things were going to happen and he cried when something bad was going to happen. The other was an old lady who wore all black with a hat and veil and gloves. My aunt would see her in the basement, which is an old Michigan basement, you know cement - dirt - and rocks. In the dining room there is a spot on the ceiling and even though they painted over it several times it just kept returning. My aunt said that sometimes it would drip on her when she walked under it. There were no pipes above this spot and it was on an inside corner not an outside one. There is a room at the head of the stairs and it is always cold there. When you walk into it you feel as if you can't quite breathe deep enough. When I was 15 my aunt had a seance there. My mother and I and       one of my friends went. We sat at a table in the dark with a candle in the center. Everyone held hands and the woman asked the questions. The spirits answered by making the candle flame taller or smaller and by splitting it into more than one flame. The spirits said that a handicapped child had been hidden in the room at the head of the stairs and   to never remove the floor boards there. I have always been afraid of that house. I do not have any of these pic but I swear to god they are real. I could say names. but I do not want to air that type of stuff out their. Bottom line is... Their is a good load of ghost in this old town. Some are good some are not so good. One family I know say an old chief will throw stuff at night. I can not say if it is true or not. But that is what someone in their family tells me. My brother tells me that one has saved his life and his family life because of a CO2 leak in their home. and my sister in law says he is still with them. Should we fear ghost? I can't say. And another time in the same home I seen the t v turn on and off plus the channels were changing. And I seen lights turn on and off when no one was living at thee home. That place has always creeped me out. But my wife fells at home there. So watch the home by the grave yard. I know something is their.
