To begin with, this is FAR from the oldest home in Boyne City, Michigan and nowhere near the oldest home (or building) in Charlevoix County. Some simple local history research would quickly dismiss this portion of the story as false. I have in my possession copies of the actual deeds to this home, and at NO time did the LeRoy family own the house located at the     end of LeRoy Street in Boyne City, Michigan. While the past resident’s activities have indeed added to the ''mystic'' of the house, they were by no means ax murderers or any other type of killers. Sorry to disappoint. The LeRoy family being referred to in the above article, and buried in the Old Boyne City Cemetery on that same street, did indeed die in Wilson Township- all of very NATURAL causes. Again, a simple search of public records would dispel anything to the contrary. Mr. LeRoy must have been a formidable foe at the time of his death...
