Byron Center, Michigan Ghost Tales

A few years ago my sister and I were in the cemetery located on Homerich road. People from all around Byron and Dorr area are very aware of the glowing tombstone. Well we wanted to see the cemetery during the day, see the dates on the tombstones and see if we could find the tombstone that glows. We started in the very back by the fence, even during the day the place is creepy. There are a lot of stones from the 1800’s. There are stones that are from the men who died in the war and children who died at birth. I was looking at one of the stones; it was so old I was having a hard time read it so I asked
my sister if she could tell what it said. We both kind of were hunched over looking at the stone when all of a sudden I saw something out of the corner of my eye. I turned and looked and there was a lady
standing there. I stood with my eyes and mouth wide open. My sister looked at me and said “what” thinking I was pulling her leg she started to laugh and she turned in the direction I was looking towards and her mouth dropped open. The lady was dressed from I guess the 1800’s it was from the time women wore bustles and hats. She looked as if she was in her twenties, I guess because it is very hard to judge a transparent figures age. She looked at my sister and I, I think she smiled and then she turned and walked along the fence till she vanished. You have never seen two grown women move so fast. We
got into the car and locked the doors. As we left the cemetery we started to laugh, that was the scariest but most exciting thing to happen to us. So even in the day Byron Center has visitors.
