A partially translucent gentleman clad as the skipper of a freight ship has regularly been made out hauling a dead body from the ice cold water of Cold Creek in the early morning hours before sunrise. A large chilling spirit is often made out being carried by a bicycle on a shadowy highway close to East Tawas. The ghost of a young man sporting a confederate uniform has supposedly been seen on one or two occasions in a house in East Tawas. Several of the people who live here argue this phantom may well be a distinguished old days inhabitant of East Tawas.
