Custom Search Grass Lake, Michigan Ghost Sightings Grass Lake PAGE 1   2   3   4     Our house on Maple Street in Grass Lake was haunted by the spirit of what looked to be a police officer who would stand in the upstairs hallway outside of the middle bedroom smoking late at night. He was also seen in the doorway between the kitchen and the living room. When I was a small boy I played with a man I called ''applebee'' in our basement who I described as being ''all red''. The house frequently smelled of     cigarette smoke though no one in our family smoked. We found out that a police officer had lived in our house in the 1960's and died there. The house was built in 1911, and all records of occupants of the house from that Era were destroyed in a fire so we have never learned of anyone named applebee living there. A house on the opposite corner of Maple Street was said to be haunted by the spirit of a Young girl who was seen by the children of the home on Many occasions and seen once by their mother at the top of the steps.
