Lincoln Park, Michigan Ghost Tales

I moved into our first home in Lincoln Park Michigan in 1996.  At first I thought being unfamiliar with my new surroundings was making me jumpy, but soon I was to learn that ''It wasn't just me''.  My boyfriend at the time and I had a beautiful Chow Chow, (''The dog said to ward off evil spirits) well our dog would go down to the basement langing and freek out sometimes which I can say scared the heck out of me, then other times she would jump up out of a dead sleep and run tward the landing and jump into the air as if to attack.  I told Ken about this many times and he said I was making the dog nervous by me being scared all the time.  Well one summer night Ken was sleeping upstairs and started yelling ''bring me the flashlight''.  I grabbed it and ran upstairs to give it to him and when I handed it to him he just stood there in the dark.  Here, I said forceing it tward him when I heard his voice say from the bed ''well  bring it here!'' Needless to say I threw it in the direction of the bed and ran away.  Later that same summer the next
door neighbor had given us a large picture to hang in the living room.  It was a heavy picture, an oil of flowers with a large frame that had its own spot light attached on the top.  I didn't want such a nice gift to fall so I used a large bolt, screwed into the wall's stud as a mount.  Ken and I were haveing a conversation about the house and how
I thought it was haunted, ''No way this house is haunted!'' he said just as the bulb in the pictures spot light exploded, it wasn't turned on.  ''Ha!! I said feeling smug.  Again Ken expressed how this was just a coincidence, when the picture we had on another wall across the room slammed down on the floor and upon examination the large nail in that wall was not bent over at all.  After years of these kinds of things happining daily I decided to start asking all my neighbors if these kinds of things had happened to them and every one said yes and eagerly told me their stories.  The oldest person I talked to told me that this end of Lincoln park was an indian burrial ground and thats why he believes the area is so haunted. I went to the Lincoln Park historical society and found he was right, and that many Indian artifacts had be found near the creek at the end of my street. I believe My street is the most haunted street in all of Lincoln Park Michigan.

I
grew up in a home on Michigan Blvd. that was haunted. My first expeience was when I was five, I felt a hand grab my upper arm when I was playing on the staircase in the upstairs of the house. My mother was in the basement washing clothes and we were the only two home at the time. I also heard knocking underneath my nightstand next to my bed when I woke up one morning about 7am, when I was about 14. I looked underneath the nightstand and noting was there. After I was an adult and my family had moved away, my father told me that he had heard knocking all over the upstairs that previous night. My sisters also had experiences there. My father was told my the elderly neighbor man that, ''Women don't like that house, they never stay long.'' I lived there for 4 years and I was scared the whole time. I am almost 50 years old now and I would never go back to that house, ever. I've often wondered if the people who have lived in the house since us have ever had any experiences.
