My husband tells me about a time that he and a friend were at the old Indian school off Pickard. The building has been used as an Indian school and one time mental institution and is now, as property of the state it's abandoned locked/chain and boarded up.
My husband and his friend found an unlocked door. They walked around and each room was empty, devoid of any furniture or anything to show it's varied past. As they walked down the steps to the lower level they heard a large crash and boom. This scared them as no one else was with them and they had just walked through the rooms upstairs and there was no furniture/objects to fall.
Needless to say they both ran back up the steps and out the fire escape into the front of the building. They were getting their wits and their breath back once out into the daylight and crisp autumn air, when my husband heard his name being called to him in an eerie young girl's voice. He says the girl's voice was full of pain and literally left him emotionally feeling pain for several days afterwards.

ran to the car and left. I trust my husband and he is not making this up. He has in the past been obsessed with the properties and read everything he could get his hands on to find out more. I think this may be a demonic presence as the church says often it is not a good thing to become so obsessed with something like this.

Most of the folks who live here in Mount Pleasant, Michigan are blissfully uninformed of the horrific enigmas this municipality retains; this place has a good quantity of phantoms. Tables shift around, words from the thin air. Not everyone believes in the reports the people who live here tell, but the things that go on here in Mount Pleasant during the moonlight hours will freak you out.

A female with a spear sticking out of her head may repeatedly be noticed scrambling up from a manhole on a Mount Pleasant street after midnight.
The ghost of a woman with a sack tied around her head has occasionally been observed performing a tune on a guitar in a Mount Pleasant mobile home.
A big chilling spirit is once in a while observed in Chipp-A-Water Park around midnight hiding a corpse by a sizeable rock.
The ghost of a young man wearing a confederate uniform has allegedly been distinguished

on many occasions on the water's edge of Grewes Lakes searching for a glove. Locals who have perceived this phantom allege this phantom is that of a person who lived here in Mount Pleasant long ago. Whichever way, it without a doubt is a bloodcurdling phantom that you wouldn't wish to encounter around midnight.
