Troy, Michigan Ghost Tales A house at the end of my neighborhood was always a dark forbidding place. The lawn was never cut. The bushes engulfed the entire front of the house. At night you could see a light on in the basement, but no one was ever home. I just thought it was a crack house or weed plantation (hey I was like 8 years old). Except for one night when a saw a shadow moving back and forth across the window. When I went back home and asked who lived at that house my parents told me that no ones lived their for nearly 8 years since a boy murdered his mother in the basement and...ate some of her. The boy has been in prison ever since and no other family members have returned to the place.
