Sixteen years ago my wife came to me saying my youngest daughter believed she had an imaginary friend named Rainbow who would come and play with her at night in her bedroom. She was worried because she felt my daughter really believed it was true. My daughter was three and a half years old. She asked me to talk to her, and I did. She told me how Rainbow would float in through her window every night and play with her. She told me Rainbow had brought a friend with her last night. The ''No Boo Boo Doctor''. I am thinking ''Man has she an imagination. '' She told me the ''No Boo Boo Doctor'' cut her leg, and it did not hurt. She added ''look dad no mark''. I tucked her in and told her go to sleep and not to play with Rainbow any more.
My bedroom was right across from hers. My door was open and hers was closed. I had just fallen asleep when I was awoken by the sound of my daughter. I could hear a female voice talking in her room, a sing song type of talk. I could not understand what was being said. I sprang to my feet and ran to her door still hearing her moaning and the female voice. When I flung open her door nothing was there. I found only my daughter sleeping quietly. I checked the rest of the house to see if a TV was on or a window open. Windows closed, TV off. We had a standard poodle that was my daughter's best buddy. He would follow her everywhere, except her bedroom. I had to drag him into her room that night, and close the door behind him. He did not want to be in there. But I put him in there every night, and Rainbow never came back.
I still get the chills when I think of that night. About five years later I was sleeping in that bedroom and had just shut out the lights, and it sounded like someone was running their finger down the window blind, ''plunk plunk plunk. '' I quickly turned on the lights, nothing there; no sound, not anything. When I finally turned off the lights again, ''plunk plunk plunk. '' I turned the lights back on and still nothing there. This went on for two or three more times, and then I just left the light on and went to sleep. The room is at the end of the hallway. The light was on in the room one night, shinning light in the hallway. I was in the kitchen looking down the hallway, I saw a shadow of a person coming from the bedroom. I ran to the room but as always nothing, but in the door entrance it was about ten degrees colder than the rest of the hallway. Computer Wi-Fi will work in every room of the house except that room. That is my ghost story, and it is a true one.
