Stewart befriended many of the children of the village and often waited with them at the bus stop at the local community hall. Years ago Stewart simply disappeared and was never seen again. It has been reported that on several occasions the misty image of a brown dog has been seen pacing back and forth waiting for the school     bus to return. When approached the dog simply vanishes. Young children have also reported seeing a brown dog looking in their bedrooms late at night as if Stewart continued to watch over them, even in their sleep.
