Vandals removed her headstone and the apparition started to appear more than 50 yrs ago. The area of the grave is surronded by woods and would be impossible to find now. A decapitated female may be distinguished repeatedly looking at the sight from the apex of Trautman Hill in the early morning hours. A local person argues that this phantom is that of a local who settled here   in Burghill long ago. The ghost of a young girl has sometimes been spotted at Yankee Lake Dam on a dark night trying to find a woman. One of the folks who live here steadfastly claims that this ghost loves frightening foolish folks who are bold enough to disturb the silence in Burghill.
