Hilliard, Ohio Ghost Tales Has anyone out there heard of the house on Main Street? My grandmother and grandfather lived there from the early 60s. She died in 1994,And he died recently, the home was sold. My grandmother always told me a story of secret rooms in the house. She also said a woman caught her husband cheating with the help. I guess this was the day when Hillard was just forming, anyhow the woman killed her husband and the maid in the upstairs bedroom. I remember as a child the house always had a odd filling to it, Thick hard to breath, I have had nightmares over the years about this house. I know it was a very old place. If anyone out there can tell me the history I would love to here from you. Ghosts are so routine in this town; many people who live here don’t even worry about it any longer.       Not everybody trusts in the testimonies the people who live here tell, but Hilliard is filled with struggling spirits just waiting to spook you. The ghost of a twelve feet huge giant has regularly been witnessed resting at the kitchen counter in a Hilliard   home grasping a cranium. One of the local residents strongly asserts that this ghost is the ghost of a traveler that was murdered while journeying through Hilliard many years ago. The phantom of a young girl is frequently distinguished tossing boulders into the flowing water at Hayden Run before dawn. Whatever folks utter, this is an unsympathetic ghost that should be shunned. The ghost of a lady with half her head missing has been said to have been noticed on one or two instances on the water's edge of Griggs Reservoir trying to utter something. Some folks argue this ghost is that of a resident who settled here in Hilliard some decades ago. A lady with a machete in her head can regularly be observed riding on a steed by the side of a road close to Hilliard. Whichever way, it's without a doubt a terrifying phantom that is better not messed with. The ghost of a young-looking Indian warrior can be spotted time and again dragging a cadaver over the grass in Avery Park on a dark night. The ghost of a strong lumberjack grasping a large axe has every now and then been made out marching through a flat near Hilliard. In any event, this ghost sure is menacing; one that you do not want to come across at the stroke of midnight.
