When I turned back around the man was gone. I flew down the stairs to tell Mike what I had seen. He said I wasn't the first person to see this gentleman. He said that this man was seen before.
Another time I was in the basement. I had to iron table cloths when I heard of a child running around behind one of the locked doors. Of course I had to go snooping to see why the child was in there. I bolted out of the basement to the kitchen where I was talking

with the cook. The cook, Charlie, knew about the basement. He said he would never go into that area. He was an older colored man. He said the Lord said

not to be where demons roam. I told him about the man in the upstairs parlor, and he also knew of that person being seen. He also let me know that the sounds in the basement were from Mr. Shield' son, who had died back in the 1860s in the in-ground pool that they had in the back yard. I asked where the pool was (since I was new to the place. ) He said it was covered up because of the son drowning. A shed of some sort was built on top of it.
