Marysville, Ohio Ghost Tales | |

As a resident of Marysville, OH for many years, I've heard many of strange tales. Most are (of course) purely exaggerated. However, there are certainly some strange things that do happen in Marysville, OH just as they do in many towns and cities across the world.
I can pass on not much of a tale but a truth from my own observation. My wife and I purchased a home in Marysville sometime in 2003. Nothing was mentioned to us about odd behaviors of the home. However, as soon as we moved in, strange things did happen. The television would go on in the living room at about 3a in the morning and we're fast asleep. Each time I'd get up and turn it off. It got bothersome so I removed all the batteries from all my remote controls to rule that out. It still happened at varying times. We might be eating dinner and the news comes on. Further, the television would change channels. We'd experience lights going on and off on their own. Our computers would boot up and perform tasks that we could never figure out. We had A LOT of this happening. I began

working in the basement and the attic and as we began making changes to the house, we would begin seeing a black image is the best way to describe it. Just a black shadow that would walk right through the middle of the basement or attic or even the kitchen. After a few times of being a bit fearful. I later began following it. I mean it never hurt me

nor my wife. Our dogs would often growl at nothing in the hallway at the wee-hours of the night. Most of our activity would happen about 3a. My wife and I got used to these things. Had some re-wiring done, purchased a total of five televisions and I don't know how many DVD and VCR units over a five year period. They all did the same thing. We had the home blessed a total of two times. After the first blessing, things stopped pretty much cold turkey. Nothing happened for about a year. Then it all came back again in full swing. Things would come up missing. We'd literally set something on the counter, turn around to grab something and turn back and it would be gone and in the other room or sometimes we never found it at all.
Well, we eventually had the house blessed again. I asked my wife to go to the store. I literally sat down in the kitchen. I pulled up a chair for this imaginary ghost and I sat down and asked 'it' to sit down. I talked to it like a live person. Explaining that it was frightening my wife and myself and that we do not

appreciate that. I offered to let it stay if it would be on good behavior and stop hiding things and whispering our names and the several other things it did. So, things pretty much went great beyond that. I told it that we had full respect for it's life and it's death no matter what kind of life they lived we wanted to share peace with or without them in our home and it was up to them to decide to 'move on' like they should or stay with us with some 'house rules'. After this discussion and the second blessing on the home, things pretty much died. I mean maybe a few things a week that were very odd or supernatural but far from the several things a day things we had experienced.
