This is in answer to pauley's question about agosta. This info is courtesy of the Marion Ohio historical society. The community now called new Bloomington had several other names: Carey station (1856) Belfast and agosta (1883). new Bloomington timeline 1856 w. W. Carey and Wingate Carey established a town along the ccc&i railroad. they called it Carey station. soon after the name was changed to new bloomington. c. 1860

w. W. Carey a. Smallwood and George h. Smallwood established the first dry goods store known as Carey and smallwoods. 1871 james Eliot settled

at new Bloomington and opened a general store. 1873 new bloomington's first hardware store established by Jacob berger.
1875 methodist episcopal church built. 1879 depot built at a Cost of $1 000. $300 of this was donated by the village. the station name was changed to Belfast but the village continued to use the name of new bloomington. 1880 t. R. Shinn opened a livery and feed stable. 1883 name of
