me, and she looked at me like, ''Are you seeing this?'' We ran up. I had to unlock the door. When we got in the magazine dropped to the ground right in front of us, and all the windows and doors were locked. There was nothing in there with us at least in this realm. If you have more questions or want to hear more stories, you can email me at kevlar2689 @ gmail. com I would love to talk about it.

I live in a very old home in downtown Pataskala. This home has been owned by members of my family for generations. My great grandmother birthed all of her kids in the corner in the living room. It has a lot of history.

I would like to tell you about living with the ghosts of my family members. My mother and I moved into this house when I was fifteen so that we could help take care of my great grandmother. Two of the three bedrooms upstairs had not been used for anything but storage for the better part of around twenty years. They still had beds that were made of cloth and straw-like stuff on old brass frames in them. It was the same beds my grandparents and great aunts and uncles grew up sleeping on. The first time I experienced anything here was just a few weeks after moving in. Sometime in the early morning hours I woke up to what felt like a hand resting and lightly squeezing on my right foot. I was frozen with fear. After a few minutes the feeling left me, and somehow I managed to return to sleep. I told my mom and great grandmother about it in the morning. They laughed at me and told me more than likely it was my great grandpa welcoming me into the house. Shortly after that I saw him in the early morning hours. Something made me stir, and I instantly opened my eyes, and there he was at the top of the stairs. Again, I was freaked out beyond all else, but I was comforted in the knowledge that he was my family and meant me no harm. He vanished as he started walking down the stairs, but I could still very faintly hear his footsteps.

Flash forward about a year. I had a friend spending the night. One of our favorite things to do was play cards late into the night at the kitchen table. By this point my great grandmother was unable to make it up the stairs anymore, so she slept on a daybed in the living room. It was about 2:30am, and we were almost done playing Shanghai rummy when we began to hear people talking and really old music, like ragtime music. The way we heard it was really strange. It was like it was just in our heads, but we were hearing the same thing. It was very quiet and faint but recognizable. We had also sensed some kind of fear of water. We were attempting to figure out what we were experiencing. Then something caught our eyes at the same time. In the doorway leading from the kitchen to the dining room was a woman's head. It was not a disembodied head but rather someone peeking in from around the doorway. It was see-through but very crisp and clear, and it had a slight smile on its face as if it had been enjoying what we were doing. It was a person I had never seen. It ducked back around the doorway, and we instantly got up to follow it.

Our first thought was it may have been my great grandma checking on us. It wasn't as she was sound asleep and snoring in her bed. No one else was awake but us two girls. We told my mom and great grandma what had happened the next morning. Both of them were confused as no one had ever seen anyone else but my great grandpa in the house. My mom brought down a box of old black and white photos for us to look through to see if we could point out someone that looked like who we saw, and we did. An unmarked photo of a lady who looked exactly like the face we had seen the night before. Her name was Suzy, and she was my great grandma's cousin. She used to spend summers in this house with my great grandma when they were younger but had been dead for many years. And yes, she was very afraid of deep water.
