Steubenville, Ohio Ghost Tales Several months ago while my family and I were passing through the area, we stopped for a picnic in the state forest area around noon. It was bright, sunny, and warm out. We spread an old quilt and setteled down for a bit of lunch when my 11 year old son stop and froze in mid bite of his sandwich. His face was white and his eyes were as big as their sockets would allow. My 18 year old daughter, yelled something was with him. I looked at his face and called his name. With out even blinking or looking at me, he slowly lifted his hand and pointed in the direction behind me. We all turned to look. And standing there, or some what floating there, about two feet off the ground. What this transparent spirit of a samll girl. I would say she was about 5 or 6 years old. She had crystal clear blue eyes, and blond-blond hair that just jung in ringlets around her face. She was wearing a white dress, tights, and white patten leather shoes. There was a light white glow around her. She was beautiful, She looked over at me and asked me. ''Have you seen my       mommy?'' We all just stared at her. Not one of us was sure we were dreaming or awake. I finally spoke and told her no. The look on her face changed from a hopeful look to a sad one. She began to cry. My daughter told her to go look into the patch of trees further on behind her, that her mommy might be there. The child smiled and said thank you, and   turned and floated toward the trees. Once she was out of our sight. We packed up nearly everything and threw it in the back of the mini van and left. I said nearly everything becuase we left the digital camera behind. That's ok. I wanted a new on any ways. He doesn't bother you to much but you know he's there. Submitted by J1198       Category: home OK, I saw this 1 ghost across the street from me in a field. The field once had this orange house were a family died in (it was a fire). The city (Steubenville) had recently tore the house down. I saw the whole family, the 2 burned children, the father, and the mother. It's torn down now, but, around midnight you can see the family standing in the field were the house used 2 be.
