Comment by Terry: We love this cemetery and walk through it at least once a week. We've never heard this story. Is the section you're referring to behind Krogers?.

About 14 years ago I working late one night in the church on the corner of 4th and north Streets. I was up in the pulpit area saying a prayer before I left. The building was tightly locked up. I heard someone walking down one of the two aisle ways.
I quickly rose up from the pew and looked but saw no one. I went back to praying and heard the footsteps again. This time I ducked down and looked under the pews thinking someone was trying to sneak up on me but I still saw no one.|
I slid under a pew and hid because the church is in a bad section of town. I looked and looked but saw no one at all! I heard the steps walk all the way up to the front of the church and then they simply stopped.
I waited for a bit then looked over the pews and still no one was there. At this time I was pretty shaken so I said a quick prayer for protection turned off all the lights and left. I later found out that a janitor used to live in the basement in the early days of the church when the boiler was coal fired.
