I have lived in Waynesville for about ten years but in a home with my parents that we had built ourselves. I recently moved out into an apartment with my husband and daughter. On our first night there, I had a picture hanging on the wall and my husband and I were talking and he saw the picture fly off the wall and hit me in the side of the head.
There is no explainable reason for this. My daughter, her first night there, laying in between mom and dad ( she's 2) would look around the room with an odd look on her face, it got really cold, then she went pale and started screaming..

She was hysterical.. She finally went to sleep about 3 hours later, but not without the blankets up over her head.

While on the bike trail at night with my friends, some things happened; back in 2007, we saw a semi-transparent red hooded figure (possibly the ''red hunch'') on the bike trail. In 2008, we were in the woods part of the trail, and we heard a shriek that didn't sound like anything that a human or animal could make.
Also in 2007, we went into the ''three holes'' and, with our fingertips, wrote our initials at the end. When we came back the next year, our actual names had been carved into the concrete tunnel. Again in 2008, when we came in the woodsy part of the trail, a man dressed in black followed us with his dog, saying, ''i live in the dark, I live in the dark...
'' and then started walking in circles.
