''wine cellar'' takes the cake in terms of evil presences.

Like I've said, I am not encouraging ANYONE to take part in any explorations here. I really do not condone it by any means. If you are hard headed like me, and plan to do so anyways, just keep in mind everything I've said. God bless!.

I grew up in Wickliffe on Ridge Road down the street from city hall and the old Ridgeview Sanitarium. It was my grandparents' home, and as the story goes, it and the house next door used to be one home and at one time a convent for nuns. They both featured wide front porches that spanned the front of the homes. Just a few years ago our neighbor's house burned down. Everyone knew the house because of her love for animals. She'd walk packs of dogs and cats. She used to lounge on her roof regularly in the summer.

Foremost, our home was haunted. From the second floor bedrooms you could hear walking up on the third floor (attic) when nobody else was home. Sometimes from the first floor you'd hear the attic door slam. The attic was more like another living space. There were a living room, bedroom, and bathroom. We, as young adults in the home and various friends and family members had taken turns living up there. Everyone had their own stories to tell. We experienced sudden chills, a perfume smell, and TV's or radios turning on by themselves.

My brother swore one night he felt someone lay down beside him in bed. We were never scared though, as we knew who it was. My grandmother' sister had lived up in the attic for many years, a spinster who never married, and she liked to drink a lot. So much so in fact, that when they found Aunt G dead. When the coroner examined her, he claimed she'd been gone at least three days, but she had actually been up and about just the night prior. Or had she actually still been living? They heard her and saw her, but that continued until we left the house in the late 1990s.

So, if you're ever near there, take a look up in the attic windows. You just might catch a glimpse of Aunt Gert. Additionally, we lived down the street from the old Ridgeview Sanitarium. Stories of escaped mental patients, screams from inside, and haunting sounds would be told over family get-together's for years after the institution was closed down. Naturally as teenagers, we had to go inside. It was an easy feat since a window to the basement was missing and the cover board also pushed in. We dropped into the basement where cells that looked like large cages still remained.
