In1979 when my husband john and I lived in albia iowa we resided in the Lobes building our daughter christina was about 3 years old we had many papanormal experiences in this apartment. the water in the kitchen would turn on and off by itself the toilet would flush itself. our daughter would wake in the middle of the night and want to sleep with us because she said there was a BLUE MAN in her room she was very frightened by it. one of my husbands friends who worked for him at the time said he saw strange shadows and he was very uncomfortable to stay there. but the last straw was when one night while we were sleeping our antique marbletop dressers were pulled to the foot of our bed it freaked me out so much I said I was ready to move out that day!!! I wish I had pictures of ourappartment but I don't have them any more ,but I know no one has lived there since I would like to know if any one has any information on this building please contact me at tlynnworley@yahoo.com thank you and God bless.

These are some of the spooky things that have happened here recently.
A moderately transparent guy outfitted as the captain of a fishing boat has supposedly been spotted on numerous instances looking on the shore of Maxon Reservoir. Folks here who have perceived this spirit declare this spirit may well be a recognized old days dweller of Albia. Well, it's without a doubt a scary phantom that you shouldn't go trying to locate.
A big chilling ghost was observed attempting to touch something in Monroe City Park around midnight. The arrival of the observer frightened the phantom who then vanished. Residents here assert that this ghost is probably the tormented ghost of a person who used to live here in Albia. In any case, this ghost certainly is creepy; one that should be avoided.
The ghost of a tied up man came into view at Grays Creek late in the night hurling pieces of wood into the flow. The ghost spoke about avenging a homicide.
