When I was in college around 2008, I was staying at a friend's apartment in Cambridge Apartments. I woke up to a ghost slapping me in the face. My friend was the only other person there, and she was sound asleep. I went in and slept in my friend's room. I was so scared. That place was so dark and dingy.|

I don't know if this is a ghost story or not? My mother remembers seeing Indians mounds on the north to northwesterly side of Springdale Cemetery. They are digging in that general area now (late fall 2020 to spring of 2021). I hope they don't find any bones. She also said that when she was a very young girl, Al Capone had buried some of his competition there among the Indians mounds.
Later in life she knew a person that worked in the cemetery and had asked him about the stories she had heard as a young girl. He said that he didn't know of any, but he was told not to disturb any ground on the northly side of the cemetery. It was very rough looking to him, so he just left it alone. He did say if you would leave anything up in that part of the cemetery over night by accident, it didn't work right from then on.
Some of the older graves were not dug too deep, and in the spring time after the frost was well out of the ground, you may find parts of bone or parts of clothing like an old rust belt buckle. Many times if you look hard enough, you would see where a squirrel may have dug something up and brought it to the top. You may find a lot of animal bone in the northwest of the cemetery. There was a car burned in that area (1970-1985). He said that there were a lot of old rusty farm machinery just rusting away.
Another sight that my mother had said behind Carson Freight line (north of Comanche) there were Indian mounds. Her older brother's class went up there on a field trip to look at the mounds. He told my mother that the teacher told the class that the reason the Indians had put the mounds there is because the Indians (that were buried there) could look over the good fertile farm ground next to the river, and they were high enough to watch over the whole valley.
