Comment by Rudolph: The Ashton house has gothic architecture and a cobble stone sidewalk. The Lakins later tenants found a secret room behind a bookcase in the library. This room might have been used to hide escaped slaves making their way north on the underground railroad. The ghost was a woman in white.
Comment by Jimmy: I'd like to know who has actually seen the ghost of the woman. I have walked by that house in all weathers at various times of the day and night and a few times around the porch but have never seen anything unusual.

House on 11th ave so. Old pre Civil War house. Was very haunted. Burned down many years ago. Other people who lived in those apartments also know it was haunted. Was possibly used as an under ground railroad.
