During the day Matlock, Iowa is equal to any other US municipality, but the ghost descriptions passed on by the people who live here are sufficient to make anyone think again about stopping by here. Phantoms are so regular around here; scores of people who live here don’t even lose sleep about it any longer. A number of people who live here say these accounts are untrue, but menacing things sure take place here in Matlock in the moonlight hours.

These are some of the spooky things that have happened here recently.

The ghost of a badly mangled huntsman hauling a dead deer was seen resting on a couch in a residence in Matlock. This ghost is enormously active in this area; there have been numerous additional stories of this individual ghost.

The ghost of a young woman with a line around her neck was noticed in Boyden Recreation Area at the stroke of midnight trying to say something. The witness escaped immediately after she spotted the spirit.
