It was there that I finally realized what was happening. I was alone in that house. There was no one there in the back bedroom and now I had to retrace every step. And sharing this emotional trip with me was a presence I couldn't see only feel. I expected a tweak on the nose and noise but was spared. When my sister came home from the grocery store with mom they     found me outside. Two things came out of this experience. First I treated my sister better even when she did not deserve it. Second my room being at the top of the stairs I didn't always believe my dad's explanation for the stair steps creaking in the night. I can accept that the steps cooled and Rose but did they always have to start at the bottom and work their way towards the top?.
