In the days of the pioneers, a homestead was erected in North English. The family, a young farm couple, soon had 2 children-a boy and a girl. One day as the parents were doing chores outside, a fire broke out, probably due to the cook stove that was used to cook as well as warm the home. Upstairs the young children played as the fire spread. By the time the parents noticed the blaze it was too late and the children perished.

Over the years many barns were constructed on the site, but each unexplicitly burned. Then the land was used as a hayfield until the early 1970's
|
when a nursing home was built. The west wing lays on the site where the children burned-the tiny bodies never recovered. At night residents will often report little children running down the hall or rummaging through their drawers in the rooms. The ghost children, though mischievous indeed, seem to enjoy the company of 'grandparents', and are unaware they are dead. Submitted by R.J. Categories: farm, children, sounds, fire
