Palo, Iowa Ghost Tales

At Palo park, there is a pavilion with a barbeque pit and a small playground. Noted as the only park in palo, as far as I know,I went there with my father when I was tweleve years old for my birthday. As I was looking into the woods, I noticed a drop-off to a hill rolling downwards. To my surprise, I saw a cemetery. I wanted to get a closer look so my dad took me down there so I could see the name of it. It read, ''Pleasant Ridge Cemetery''. I went to that park often and I was consequently left alone there while my dad went to the restrooms not far from there. I was so fascinated by the sights of the front, i counted the stairs. My grandma called it ''Thirteen steps to Hell'', which made it even more fascinating. I did see something there. I walked to the top of the stairs and I sat there for a moment. it was already a cold day, but a breeze out of nowhere picked up and I became frightened. I stood up and looked across the old graves. At the corner of the yard, i saw a white figure sweep across the ground. A tall figure, maybe a lady who never
found peace before she passed away. It was very slow, but I was not alarmed. I felt a lot of emotion passing throughout the grounds. Something told me to go to the corner of the graveyard, where I saw this ''white figure''. I looked for women's names and sure enough... a lady who was buried there in the 1800s was sure to be found. I cannot recall her
name. One of these days, I am going to go back and see who she really was, If it was a she at all. Its a small cemetery but I am not the only person who has witnessed a paranormal sight.

Our house was recently flooded in the 2008 flood. We had spent twenty some years in our home.? We often heard footsteps upstairs creaking the floor boards as they walked, we were also often startled by the sound of something crashing to the floor above us, yet nothing was ever out of place when we would investigate the noises.? When my father remodeled the bathroom he pulled up the bathtub to find a large blood stain that had soaked through the floor boards due to the substantial amount of blood.? Later the backyard was dug up and we found many random bones (nothing we could put together). In the basement our washer sat directly below the bathtub, on occasion we would find the washer filled with water and the lid up without any clothes in it.?
Items would disappear from upstairs and immediately be found downstairs.? After the flood we found the foundation was washed away and we could not repair our home, we gutted everything out, when we were told to have everything out of the house in two days so it could be demolished we went to strip it of the copper piping.? My sister in-law and I were standing in the living room that was nothing but wall boards and a unsteady floor, the sun had gone down and there was only a glow through the windows that was fatly fading away as the night grew darker, it was completely silent when we noticed a light coming from the corner of the room we walked over to find a phone laying there off the hook with the number lights glowing orange we immediately started getting scared, we then heard a loud static on the line then the phone went off.? There was no phone service to the house and the electricity was never turned on after the flood. This creepy paranormal incident was the last good bye of the house we once loved yet knew was haunted.
