I spent one semester attending UMD in fall of 1999. It was late at night just before Christmas break. I was cleaning a section that normally I didn't (one of the older halls' offices) at about 9 pm on a Friday night.
This particular hallway was nothing but closed office doors that went in a loop. As I walked through the area a tingle ran through my body followed by whistling. The whistling echoed around the loop and moved without the sound of any footsteps.
I ran around the loop figuring someone was there but could find no one. The whistling continue for about a minute. The shocking sensation vanished with it too. The halls in the area are all stone. There is no way a person could sneak in and whistle that loud without making some form of sound (barring they somehow found a way to float).|
In general most of UMD gives off a weird vibe at night. This was the first I actually had something come of that weird feeling.
