Scores of ghost accounts have been told by the people who live here. Several people who live here argue these descriptions are untrue, but everyone who stays in Elk River is not alive. These are some of the spooky       things that have happened here recently. A headless guy came into sight gazing at a guy sleeping in a bed in a home in Elk River. The ghost was unconcerned that there was someone else nearby. Local people assert that this ghost enjoys terrifying foolhardy folks who come trying to locate ghosts in Elk River. The spirit of a dentist   with a bloody uniform was perceived in a supermarket in the Elk River neighborhood. When the eye witness emerged the ghost ran away. One of the locals determinedly declares that this phantom may be a famous days gone by inhabitant of Elk River. The phantom of a gentleman holding a bloody knife has frequently been witnessed attempting to conceal a dead body in Little Twin Lake late in the night. Some of the folks who live here allege this ghost is the struggling soul of a long gone Elk River person who lived here. The phantom of a civil war fighter is frequently witnessed looking at the water by Elk River Dam on a dark night. The spirit of an appallingly scorched woman is known to have been seen on a few instances climbing out of a manhole on an Elk River avenue late at night. According to the folks who live here, this ghost is the ghost of a traveler that was killed while traveling through Elk River some time ago. The spirit of an engine driver can frequently be made out howling at the bystander to go away in the middle of Crow River.
