Comment by Mac: I can absolutely confirm and add to this story. I attended SSM from 2005-2007 and from the moment I stepped foot on that campus I knew something was wrong. A lot of things have happened at that campus (and it's surroundings) which have been buried by the town and the prestigious board of the school here are few: an Indian tribe was slaughtered in the vicinity (I believe they were Dakota) the St.
Mary's dormitory actually burnt down leaving nothing but the chapel (and they reconstructed around it) a student murdered a librarian in the peak of the library called ''the crows nest'' (early 70's) , and while I attended there a girl was killed with a golf ball blow to the head in the school's gym.
In regards to the infirmary I will only say that the experiences you had there have been shared my most it is a truly terrifying place. In the woods behind the saint Marys building there is this hill if you go down the hill and walk down the path (it's not obvious but easily traceable) you will eventually come to what looks like the opening of a mine shaft.
We affectionately referred to this place as ''the bum cave'' and believed it to be part of the water system for the town... It isn't. We went in to this tunnel crouching and crawling for nearly 20 mins only to stumble upon a cement cellar loaded with mattresses loose articles of clothing and blood spread across the floor.
After taking it all in for about 20 seconds we began to hear scraping metal followed by the most insanely blood curdling and evil scream I have ever heard. We probably got out of there in 2 minutes flat.
But that wasn't even the worst thing I experienced there. I lived the St. Mary's building and inside the dorms there is this huge winding staircases that connects the basement (chapel vending machines dining hall) all the way up to the 4th floor.
One night in January I woke up feeling strangely thirsty (much more than usual) so I put on my sandals and began to head down the stairs. I wasn't really thinking of anything much it was probably about 3:00 am so of course it was incredibly quiet.
I approached the entrance to the chapel (about 20 feet from the vending machines) looked in only to see the second set of doors closed shut as they often are. I continued down got my drink and started heading back up the stairs.
As I pick my head up to wind the corner of the staircase in front of the chapel I find myself staring clear into the room which was sealed shut not more than 30 seconds before hand. That's not what scared me though.
At the first pew inside of the chapel there was a giant black silhouette (it appeared as if it was wearing a large brimstone hat) it turned to me and did nothing for about 20 seconds. As soon as I was able to control my fear and tell my legs to start running; the figure started stepping towards me.
It moved so fast and jaggedly that it probably covered about 5 feet per step. When it was about 20 feet away from me: I ran screaming bloody murder up all four flights of stairs in what felt like 3 seconds.
After the occurrence I did not feel safe there anymore. I left less than a month later and I have not returned since.
Comment by Rachel: I'm from the deaf school in Faribault. I've seen the black figure at the same place as you seen it. There is also many ghost in all the buildings but I'm not so sure about the boys' dorm since it's still kind of new.
The most common stories is that some kids can hear piano playing in noise hall and also see a black figure in the windows. The girls' dorm is a whole lot different. There's always something new but in one room a curtain will gently move like someone is on the other side poking it.
We have claimed that there was no wind or any possible way for it to move. The creepiest thing? It's always at the same time everyday. Lights will flicker on and off hear children in the hallways see someone standing in dorm rooms during nights waking up in the middle of the night for no reason.
So much more. The deaf school is haunted but after being there long enough you get used to it. Plus the ghost become your friend they are all friendly. Never had any stories where ghost have attacked humans just scared them enough to make them scared.
They're pretty harmless.
