I grew up in thief River falls and it is not haunted. It's just people looking to bring attention to an otherwise boring town. Kind of like urban legends without the urban. Having studied the paranormal and running my own investigation of the area when visiting, I must conclude that There is nothing there but people's overactive imaginations.Honestly, I could make something appear haunted with a little trick here or there and to the untrained eye, it would look real. There is a lot of that going on up there. People have too much time on their hands while they are laid off from artco and are into deception.I have lived in what was considered by many a ''haunted house'' in trf and fed into the stories and awoke once to what I thought was a figure standing over my bed. That time between dreaming and awaking is sometimes a bit fuzzy and it was that I was not quite awake.I never saw anything like that again and once I stopped listening to all the stories and used my brain, I realized it was all just talk. Like mulder said, ''i want to believe''. I however, will try and disprove things first and most of the time I can. There was once a story of a building going north on hwy 59 where a man took his life in the back room and yet no haunting there. They employees would make jokes about him being seen back there, but none of them really saw it.Other people got wind of this and the rumor went on and all of a sudden it was fact and everyone was seeing him. Honestly, this goes on all over the country with people wanting to believe. I mean the amittyville horror may have been a scary movie as a child, but I have been in the yard of that house and felt nothing other than a soft breeze from the water blowing through my hair and it felt calming.Nothing spooky here let's move on people and look into why these ''hauntings'' are happening let's find a scientific explanation and separate fact from fiction.

Comment by anonymous: Honestly I think you are a know it all and how can you be so sure it's just people looking for attention I highly doubt you have been to every house and/or building in the town.
Comment by Don: And have you? You're the one that sounds like the know it all. She said that she'd like scientific evidence to know. What's wrong with that? How can you be so sure these people aren't trying to get attention? Kind of like the Amittyville hoax? Um I suppose you believe the Lutz's story? Go ahead get the Warrens to investigate then. I'm sure they will be happy to take your money and feed in to the hype. Just make them more famous and maybe they will write a book about good old TRF.
Comment by Anita: I can tell you personally that there are haunted houses in Thief River Falls because I've lived in at least two of them.

I am a visitor staying at CC Motel. I encountered a ghost standing to the side of my bed. I could not make a face out, but it was a black figure with scraggly hair. It looked at me and then backed away and vanished.
