I lived across the street from Cooper Park on West Story Street. An old lady who died in the house frequently haunted us. She mostly turned on and off faucets and light fixtures, but would also be heard walking in the hallways. I would talk to her when I would do my laundry in the basement.

A few years ago, while attending the univerity in Bozeman, a few girl friends and I decided to move out of the dormitory and pool our funds together and rent a house. We found a nice, older two story house that had enough room for all of us. We had hoped for a more peaceful, quiet surrounding. Instead, we soon found that we had chosen a very disruptive place to live. The chaos started a? couple weeks after we moved in. At first, it was doors opening and slamming, kitchen cabinets being opened and closed, but it progressed beyond that. Several of us began to see strange, ghostly figures. the century.When we would fix our vision on them, they would look back at us, then vanish. This was unnerving, but most distrubing was when we would awaken at night and find them staring at us. The water in the tub and shower would turn on during the night, and lights would turn on and off. One of the roommates had a stereo, and it would be turned

on during the night at full volume, even when it was unplugged. We were unable to stay in the house for more than a couple months, we had to move out. The house was later remodeled and turned into an office for a law firm. Acquaintances who still reside in Bozeman, and know people who work in the office, say that the hauntings have not continued after the house was remodeled.
