The town of Armstead was inundated by water when the lake filled. At times, while night fishing, faint lights can be seen under the water where the town was. If a person disturbs this part of the lake too much while the lights are visible, the boat will be rocked by violent waves, even when the lake is otherwise calm. This is quite frightening, but the good fishing keeps us going back.
