Vaughn, Montana Ghost Tales While I was growing up, my family lived in Vaughn for several years. We had friends who lived out in the country, and we would visit them quite often. A few miles up Interstate 15 from Vaughn is the site of an old town, the tiny town of Gordon. There is not much left, but a few rock foundations can still be found. Several times, while passing the area, my dad would slow down, or even stop late in summer evenings. My entire family has seen strange, glowing orbs slowly floating around the site of Gordon. A couple times, on still evenings, we could hear strange sounds, long, moaning sounds. We only heard these sounds in the immediate area of Gordon. Some of the older residents of the area say that Gordon is extremely haunted. . Submitted by Lisa       Categories: orbs, sounds I lived in Vaughn from the age of 9 until I got in to trouble at the age of 13 and lived there off and on with my mom who lived there until last year. We lived in two houses one that was built there and the other was moved there from       Black Eagle when the Andaconda copper mine was closed down in the early 80's. in the first house we lived in I slept down in the basement and at night the light to our storage room would turn on by its self and stay on for hours until it turned off again. then I would hear some one walking up the stares knowing that no one walked down them I was scared   as hell. About 2 years after we moved to Vaughn my mom meet a man and my mom sister and I moved in with him and his two boys. That house scared the HELL out of me. Again my room was in the basement next to my mom's old sons room both him and I saw multiple shadows on the walls and felt as if more then one person was fpllowing us as we went to our rooms we would both look back and see that no one was there. On more then one occasion the whole house was woken up by the sounds of a woman singing as she used a cutting board we would all look and find the cutting in the back of the cupboards. It would continue until we brought the dogs in from the dog pen. I hated that house so much that I wanted to burn it down. All so as far as some of the ghost stories on here about Vaughn go we never saw any of the ghost that it says on here in Vaughn like the confederate soldier or the skipper anywhere in Vaughn me and my friends growing up out there would sneak out almost every night.
