It was my husband myself and     my year old son. The House was very clean and cozy. Below the kitchen was a root cellar so it was hollow and footsteps were easily heard. My husband was logging and left very Early in the morning. I cannot even count the times we heard footsteps across the kitchen floor. Even when my husband left Early in the am I would hear the footsteps. It sounded like someone with workboots and a long stride walking. Once when my our son was about 18 months old we were preparing to go for a walk and he suddenly started screaming and pointing to the ceiling in the foyer   (continued on the next page...)
