Lisbon, North Dakota Ghost Tales When I was growing up in Lisbon I heard rumors of the House of Blue Lights located between Lisbon and Fort Ransom on the Valley Road. This was a huge white house amongst the trees next to the river. Legend has it the man that lived there was wealthy and bought mail order brides from China and other oriental places, soon after he ordered a bride he would kill her and order another one. This house is said to be haunted by him and his wives and is said to glow with Blue light at night. The house was burnt down by local kids about 10 years ago who were out there to investigate the blue light and when they never saw the lights decided to make it glow with fire. I don't know if the house did ever glow or not, but heard people saw they had seen the blue light coming out of all the window. Couches shift around, shrieks coming from the thin air. A number of local residents claim       there are no ghosts, but the tormented souls of Lisbon are all too real. These are some of the spooky things that have happened here recently. A fluorescent human figure is regularly seen cutting grass in the back garden of a home in Lisbon. The phantom of a young gentleman sporting a denim jacket is known to have   been spotted on a few instances at midnight exploring Timber Coulee in detail. Locals who have distinguished this ghost say this ghost loves scaring people who come trying to find ghosts in Lisbon.
