I was put on night shift and my sleep schedule adjusted so. The footsteps began around 1am and lasted randomly until about 3:30am. I chalked it up to the nieghbors kids although I thought it was late. Next time we spoke he mentioned the footsteps again and I told him its not my kids that's making the noise. He     say oh I know it's not your kids. I told you before that you will hear footsteps. So I asked him why his kids are up that late. Then he says that it's not his kids making the noises either. He says they've always heard the footsteps even before we moved in. Him and his wife always assumed it was the nieghbors kids but realized that wasn't the case once they moved away. The House was vacant for about 2 months before we arrived with the footsteps continuing. I told my wife and her defense mechanism kicked in and began denying it.
