Rugby, North Dakota Ghost Tales Years ago, I was traveling on Highway 2 near Rugby late at night and in a hurry to get home to Minot. I was driving quite fast when I saw flashing police lights miles behind me. Not wanting to risk it, I slowed down to the speed limit until the threat had passed. A while later, the lights were gone so I got on the gas again. Out of nowhere, the lights were right behind me and I was irritated that I had been that careless to allow him to catch up with me without seeing him. I pulled over and got my driver's license out for the highway patrolman and waited for him to come to the window. When he didn't come, I checked out the rearview mirror and I was sitting alone on in the middle of the night on the lonely highway. I got back on the gas fast and got home. I call him the ghost cop of Rugby. She went to the house to check       the mail and took it into the house. When she reached the front door, she noticed it was open, and knew I always leave all my doors locked, but still proceeded into the house. She noticed all doors all over the house were open, including cupboard doors. She left the house, and got one of our good friends who was also a cop to check it out. When they   got back, all the doors were closed again. Later that week when I got back to town, we were lying in bed, and it was around 2 a.m. My wife looked at me and asked if I had gotten hungry and made eggs at some point during the night, in which I hadn't. When we got out of bed the next morning, there were eggshells in the sink, and sunny-side up eggs in the frying pan, neither one of us had gotten up to make them. Submitted by D.
