The ghost of a sturdy lumberjack grasping a sizeable axe is rumored to have been observed on a small number of instances in Beaver Lake State Park by the park headquarters looking for a man. Some of the people who live here argue this ghost is the ghost       of a vacationer that was killed while journeying through Herreid some decades ago. The scary ghost of a conquistador may be distinguished over and over again talking into the night as if somebody else was near.
