Tables jump about, cries from nothing. Doubters don't have faith in the local spirit tales, but seeing is believing and if you stay an extra day here in Mobridge, you could spot a spirit. These are some of the spooky things that have happened here recently. The ghost of a civil war fighter is every now and then noticed in Bethel Bible Camp in the early morning hours before sunrise covering a body by a big rock. The ghost of an appallingly burned lady has been said to have been seen on one or two instances at A W Spiry Dam late in the night chucking boulders. The ghost of a guy having numbers engraved into       his cheek can from time to time be spotted looking down into the water at Smith Bay on a dark night. The ghost of an engine driver has often been witnessed at Claymore Creek in the early morning hours before sunrise chucking rocks into the flowing water. In any event, this is a horrible ghost that you shouldn't go looking for. A female   devoid of a head is regularly observed staying in an uninhabited farmhouse in Mobridge. A man with no head has purportedly been perceived on a handful of occasions at the entrance to Lake Hiddenwood Recreation Area swallowing orange juice. Many residents allege this ghost is the undeceased spirit of a long dead Mobridge person who lived here.
