The ghost of a nurse with a blood-covered uniform has purportedly been distinguished on frequent occasions trying to flag down cars along a shady road close to Monroe.

The ghost of a guy hauling a bloody sword can every now and then be witnessed mailing an envelope at a Monroe post office.

An army uniform marching around devoid of a body in it was witnessed chatting into the thin air as if someone in addition was near. There have been numerous testimonies involving this spirit in the vicinity.

The ghost of a dreadfully charred female appeared by the entrance to Lake
 
    Herman State Park smoking a pipe. Additional folks close by have had equivalent events with a similar ghost.

The ghost of an engine driver was spotted reading a newspaper in Missouri National River & Recreation Area by the park headquarters. This spirit is enormously active in this neighborhood; there have been one or two additional accounts of this particular spirit.
