Murdo, South Dakota Ghost Tales I didn't exactly see it, but my father and I swear there was something in our hotel room at the Super 8 in Murdo. We were in the smoking room. While we were trying to sleep, I kept hearing a beeping noise, kind of like a fire detector but no one else seemed to wake up. My dad said it felt like someone was sitting near his feet on the bed. We also heard bumping around, sounding almost like our dog getting comfortable in her kennel. We assumed it was her until we realized that the pendants around her collar weren't jingling and making noises like they always do when she moves even an inch. Things dance about,   cries from the thin air. People who have never spent a night in this town will laugh and say it's lies, but anyone who has spent a night in Murdo, South Dakota knows better. These are some of the spooky things that have happened here recently. The phantom of a pregnant female may frequently be distinguished floating in the air like a blimp in Murdo. Some of the folks here claim this phantom is the undead soul of a former Murdo person who lived here. A decapitated man may be seen very frequently staring at a woman sleeping on a couch in a mobile home in Murdo. Whatever people express, it certainly is a chilling spirit that you wouldn't wish to bump into before sunrise.
