several times while pointing at her room. Then she just stood there with a really creepy smile on her face.

I grew up in a house next to Hills View Golf Course. When we first moved into the house in 1985 when I was four, there wasn't much activity to speak of. However, after we remodeled in 1989, things started happening. We had a poltergeist upstairs (which we believe is my late maternal grandfather) who would open kitchen cabinets and drawers, slide chairs across the floor, play with lights and make loud footsteps across the floor when my little sister and I were downstairs and alone in the house. Sometimes thing would move from where you set them and turn up somewhere else. We didn't really mind that activity. It was the thing in the basement that was the issue. When you were alone in the dark down there, it always felt like someone was directly behind you, glowing with anger and staring down the back of your head. Our dogs would refuse to go down there with the lights off. If we set our Schnauzer at the bottom of the stairs with just the stairwell light on, he would stare into the blackened family room and just snarl and snap with his hackles raised. Just past the bottom of the stairs down there, where the hallway goes three directions to the different rooms down there, there was an icy column that chilled you to the bone. We even had the contractor who remodeled our house check it out, and he couldn't find any explanation for it.
The worst part of the downstairs, for me at least, was the night time ritual I had to go through before bed. My bedroom was on the opposite side of the family room from the hallway. I had to turn off the lights before bed. Whatever was down there would grab me if I tried to put out the light nearest my room last, so I had to put out a wall lamp across the room last instead. I don't know why it did it that way. Maybe it was playing with me like I was prey. Anyway, when I put out the wall lamp and the room went dark, this thing would rush after me, chasing me to my room (which had the light on). I would sprint to my room and make it just as I felt like I was about to be snatched into the darkness and hurriedly shove the door shut. The door knob would twist back and forth and rattle, but it never came in. My sister and I would see a figure of a man standing at the foot of the bed (or sometimes sitting on the corner, replete with the sensation of weight pushing down the mattress), but we were never fearful of this man. In fact he was quite comforting. Later, when we admitted to each other and to our mom the description of the figure, we described the exact shape, height and build of her late father (who we had never met). I guess he stood guard over us every night, protecting us from the thing.

Years ago (1984) my wife and I were approaching Pierre from the west(secondary rt number unk) when in a field along a completely deserted stretch of road around a very large rock we observed a young woman in a white dress seemingly chasing several smaller children in some kind of game.
This seemed quite unusual because in that particular vicinity there wasn't a single house, barn, livestock, or vehicle anywhere to be seen, nothing to denote a human presence. It truly was kind of weird.
