Belleville, Wisconsin Ghost Tales

I have lived in Belleville since '34 and I've seen my fare share of ghosts in my lifetime, but growing up in that house that's down on 69, well I lived in that house from when I was about 9 to a little after my 14th birthday but back when, birthdays weren't anything special if it weren't your 10 or 18 birthday. But any who, livin in that house it gave you a chill up your spine. I could remember when my daddy, who would be workin down at the loading dock at the train station in town, and my mama would working as a waitress as the bar in town as well, and it would be myself and my younger brother that would be alone and we would hear things from footsteps, shuffling, and what sounded like singing in the barn. I even saw shadows dart from doorway to doorway on the second floor. See now, we had been the 3rd owners of the late 1860's home, in which 2 people had died of tuberculosis, and 1 other who fought for the confederate and if you lived in the north, and believed in the confeds, you could be hanged, but the couple kept it a secret, and managed
to house 4 confederate spies which never did a damn good anyways. I have told my stories of this house, and people laughed, but I then told it to a particular young couple, back in the early 50's when I was well into my twenties, and they said they believed it, they had rented it our for about a month, and heard whispering, a woman laughing, footsteps,
and saw shadowy figures walking on land.

I have lived in Belleville all of my life and never have experienced any sort of paranormal activity. It was the day before Halloween and 3 of my friends from upstate were going on a bike ride and before we went through the tunnel on the bike trail, we stopped, had a small snack, watered up and were going to continue on. Well right as we were about to continue, we had all heard what sounded like a deep growling coming from inside the tunnel followed by a series of loud bangs and cracks. I'm not going to say that the tunnel is haunted or anything like that but what we heard on that day was definitely no recording of a growl or bangs or anything. it was all to real.
