The spirit of a guy clutching a blood-covered spear has repeatedly been observed climbing out of Barney Swamp drenched in slime very late at night. A resident asserts that this ghost is the ghost of a traveler that was murdered while journeying through Brooklyn some decades ago. The spirit of a civil war warrior has been witnessed on several occasions in Hook Lake Bog State Natural Area late at night covering a body by a large rock.
