Colfax, Wisconsin Ghost Tales Many of my relatives live in Colfax, and about 3 weeks ago my boyfriend and I were exploring the courtyard next to the library at about 1 in the morning and we seen a white firgure in the library window. Submitted by Heather Colfax, Wisconsin appears the same as any other place in the USA, but there are ghosts in this settlement, and they appear in the moonlight hours. Many ghost stories have been disclosed by the local residents. People who have never spent a night in this municipality will laugh and say it's superstition, but not everyone of the natives of Colfax are still alive. These are some of the spooky things that have happened here recently. A fairly see-through gentleman clad as the captain of a freight ship was spotted floating in the air like a hot-air balloon in Colfax. Numerous people close by have had identical incidents involving a similar ghost. A big terrifying ghost has often been seen chucking boulders into the water at Bronken Creek at the stroke of midnight. The       ghost of a chained up man is repeatedly distinguished burying a corpse by a large rock in Twentytwo Mile Ford Park late in the night. One thing is for certain, this is an unsympathetic spirit that should be left alone. The ghost of a bum is rumored to have been made out on one or two instances twinkling a lantern amid the shrubs of The Yankee   Woods. The ghost of an old witch can frequently be perceived contemplating up on the peak of Hanke Hill. One of the people who live here firmly argues that this ghost is probably the undeceased ghost of a person who used to have a house here in Colfax. Whichever way, it's a menacing ghost that is better not disrupted. A gentleman with a big hole through his torso can be noticed frequently attempting to dump a body in Elk Mound Marsh very late at night. Some of the locals declare this ghost is the tormented soul of a long forgotten Colfax local resident.
