Lake Geneva, Wisconsin Ghost Tales | |

Well my boyfriend, Taylor, and I decided to go to this small gravel pit he offend talked about and I thought it sounded like a fun trip. So we pack up a few things and go on our way and on the way there he starts telling me more stories about when him and a few friends went up there to camp. He said that some weird things had happened to him up there like when they were all sitting around they began to hear whispering in their ears. And honestly when Taylor tells me this I start getting a bad feeling in my stomach and was glad I had some sage with me to ward off spirits. And when we get there I have this feeling wash over my body and I feel all tingly, but I just disregard it. So Taylor and I start setting up and I wonder away from him a bit and suddenly here someone whisper my name and look around startled but no one is around me. So I run back to Taylor very frightened and then we hear children laughing and we're very far from homes or playgrounds and I start burning the sage and for a while we don't her anything, but when we run out of sage

to burn we hear the laughing again. And then we hear screams and growls and mind you this is all during the day, so Taylor and I quickly pack up and leave the forest. When we are out it feels like a black sheet has just been lifted off of me and I feel so much better. I didn't see anything. I'm quite glad I didn't. Hearing things was bad enough but

I attended Northwestern Military and Naval Academy for one year back in 1986 for the seventh grade..I am now 33 years old and I can honestly tell you that I am still bothered by some of the things that happened in that place there were SO MANY ghosts in that building the students knew and the year that I was there A LOT of us never went back for the next year ...I heard that they tore that place down and all I can say is that I am glad. On a visit to Lake Geneva from Chicago, my husband and I decided to have a picnic lunch in a neighborhood park.? It was a beautiful day, sunny and warm, and the park we chose was huge, with trees, flowers and a gently rolling
|
landscape.? I remember that we found the park purely by accident - we were just driving around looking for a nice spot to eat and somehow we found ourselves in a small neighborhood with a park literally just across the street from neighboring homes. We were celebrating our third year of marriage and a day trip to Geneva seemed like a wonderful idea. We parked the car, unpacked our gear and set off to find a nice spot. After a few minutes of wandering around, we settled for a quiet spot near a small berm with a lovely little tree. This spot was quiet and offered us some privacy from the other park visitors. Over the years, my husband heard me talk about ''hand-me_down'' ghost stories and so-called adventures, but neither of us truly believed in them. They were just something you joked about or shared over a bottle of wine with your friends. However, that day changed both our lives forever. Just a few feet from the tree, we spread our blanket on the ground, and unpacked our basket. My husband insisted on sitting at the base of the tree - he was like that, always wanting to have his back to the corner. I just smiled and settled myself on the ground across from him. After a couple minutes of snacking and talking, I looked down at my husbands soda and noticed he'd almost finished it. Looking up at him, I asked if he wanted another, and saw that he was staring at something behind me - his face white - eyes like dinner plates. I asked what was wrong. He just grunted, his eyes still wide, then he lifted his arm and pointed. Now, my husband used to be an EMT and I couldn't imagine what could possibly have shaken him so badly - I could only guess it was something bad. Looking over my shoulder at the ground - the first thing I noticed were the black lace up boots and black stockings - the kind worn during the 1900's. I fell backwards because suddenly the boots were right next to the edge of the blanket - it happened that quickly. Lying on my back, I looked up to see a woman, dressed entirely in black leaning over me. Her long sleeved dress reached to mid calf, and was overlayed in a matching black lace. She wore a black wide rimmed hat and matching black gloves. Okay so when something like this happens, your brain tries logic: It's more than 80 degrees out; why is she dress in a black mourning costume? What's with the boots and stockings? Is there some kind of festival going on? These thoughts racing through my head, I then thought that she looked like she was wearing something someone either wore to a funeral or something someone might have been buried in. She looked to be mid to late 40s, no make-up, brown eyes, maybe about 5 foot 6 or so. Her waist was so small that my next thought was corset. She's wearing a corset...I turned to look back at my husband, he just sat there staring, and then I looked around at the other people in the park to see if anyone else noticed her but no one did. That's when I realized she was a ghost, but for some reason, I wasn't afraid. She was looking intently at me, like she was waiting for me to speak, so I did. I asked what she wanted. When she responded, her voice didn't sound like anything I'd ever heard. No joke; it was all around me and in my head and full of air and wind, but basically she just said that I was a special one. Then she bent down until her face was literally just a few inches from my own. I don't remember what happened next, but I suddenly found myself standing in an unfamiliar part of the park. I had no idea how I got there or where my husband was, and I was freaked. I took a few steps then I turned around and headed back the way I thought I might have come. After a couple minutes, I found my husband under the same tree, just sitting there like nothing happened. I asked him what was going on. He just shrugged and said that the ''green-lady'' and I just took off across park, talking, then he asked if I was ready to go. I asked if she talked to him, he said no, that when he got up to follow, she put out her hand to him and shook her head no. He said he loved me but he didn't think it was a good idea to follow. To this day, I don't know what the ''green-lady'' and I spoke about, or why she came to me, but I do know that since that day, odd things have happened to me - things I can't really explain and knowledge of things I shouldn't really know. I'm at a place know where I need to know if anyone else has encountered this ghost.
